Who is Dan Coughlin?
In the summer of 2009, Dan Coughlin accepted a buyout from Fox 8 Cleveland, where he worked since 1983 as a sports news anchor. Prior to working in television, Coughlin covered sports for The Plain Dealer from 1964 to 1982, and began as a columnist at the Cleveland Press just a few months before its demise in 1982.
Coughlin's first job working for Channel 8 was on its morning show from 1983 to 1988, and in June 1989 he left for a sports anchor job in Miami. Less than a year later, the Lakewood, OH native returned to his hometown to be the part-time weekend sports anchor at Channel 8. Over the years, Coughlin has also written a number of columns for suburban newspapers, including the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram and The Medina County Gazette.
Dan is currently working on a book which is scheduled to be published ahead of Father's Day in 2010 (See "The Book" for more info).
He and his wife Maddy are also parents to four children, and a dog named Millie.
